Well, one example from August 2009 is that more than one bidder offered $4.5 MILLION dollars, and more, to purchase the crypt above Marilyn Monroe's final resting place at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
Apparently, spending an eternal rest next to Marilyn Monroe is in great demand.
The original owner, Richard Poncher, who died over 20 years ago, bought the crypt from Joe DiMaggio. However, his wife Elsie, elected to put the crypt up for sale to help pay off her mortgage debts.
